Privacy Policy

Fyx is a screen-recording, screenshot, and error-tracking tool teams run for their own use. A Reel, Snap, or Beat captured through Fyx can include screen video, optional audio, URLs, browser and device details, console logs, network requests, comments, and other context, some of which may be personal data.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, when we share it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. When we say "Fyx," "we," "us," or "our," we mean the team operating this Fyx instance. When we say "Service," we mean this website, its dashboard, API, and the embeddable recorder script.

By using the Service you agree to the practices described here. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service. If you were asked to use Fyx by an organization, direct privacy questions to that organization first, since they control who is allowed to sign in.

I. The Data We Collect

"Personal data" means information that identifies you or could reasonably be used to identify you.

Account data

Fyx uses Google Sign-In only. When you sign in, we receive your Google account's email address and name, and we create a Fyx account record tied to that email. Sign-in is gated to an allowlist of specific email addresses or a Google Workspace domain configured by the operator; there is no public self-signup.

Recordings and content

When you use Fyx, we store the content you capture: screen recordings (Reels), screenshots (Snaps), and error events (Beats), including any titles, descriptions, and project assignments you add. Audio is only recorded if you explicitly turn it on; it's off by default. If Fyx is embedded on an allowlisted website, we also capture whatever a visitor submits through that embedded recorder, plus basic technical metadata (browser, device, origin) needed to attribute the submission.

Billing data

If your account is on a paid plan, payment is handled by Stripe. We don't receive or store your card number. We store your plan tier, subscription status, and billing period so the dashboard can show accurate usage and renewal information.

Usage and log data

Like most web services, our server logs requests (IP address, timestamp, endpoint) for security and debugging.

II. How We Use Data

• To operate the Service: storing, displaying, and organizing your Reels, Snaps, Beats, and projects.
• To authenticate accounts and enforce the sign-in allowlist.
• To process payments and enforce plan entitlements, quotas, and retention windows.
• To respond to support requests.
• To keep the Service secure, debug issues, and prevent abuse.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not run ads, sell personal data, use third-party tracking pixels, or profile you for marketing. Fyx's own pages load no analytics or advertising scripts.

III. Sharing, Retention & Security

Who we share data with

We share personal data only with the vendors needed to run the Service, each limited to what they need to do their job:

• Cloud storage (AWS S3 or Google Cloud Storage): stores Reel/Snap/Beat media and metadata.
• Stripe: processes payments for paid plans.
• Google: authenticates sign-in.
• Amazon SES: delivers email notifications about new reports.

We may also disclose personal data if required by law or to protect the security of the Service or its users.

How long we keep data

Reels, Snaps, and Beats are automatically deleted on a schedule tied to your plan: 7 days on Free, 30 days on Growth, and 90 days on Business, unless you delete them sooner. Account, project, and billing records are kept while your account is active, or as long as required to comply with legal or tax obligations, then deleted.

Security

Every route that touches your data requires authentication. Media is served through short-lived signed URLs rather than public links, and traffic is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, so please use good judgment about what you capture in a recording.

IV. Your Choices and Rights

You can delete your own Reels, Snaps, Beats, and projects at any time from the dashboard. To close your account entirely, or to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, contact us using the details below. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws like the GDPR or CCPA, and we'll honor those requests to the extent they apply.

V. Other Details

Children

Fyx is an internal business tool and is not directed to children. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date.
